History:

Vietnam Veterans of America, chapter 982 was created in 2007 with initial membership being comprised of Guadalupe Veterans only. Our mission statement is “In service to America” . Our founding principal is” Never again will one Generation of Veterans abandon another”. To this end we are here to educate and promote the well being of our fellow veterans and to make  the public aware of Veterans needs.

Current short-term needs:

  1. Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day, March 30th
  2. High School Seniors scholarship. Students related to Veterans who qualify. Local Schools are selected by members.
  3. Wreaths across America. Local cemetery’s are chosen each year for placement of wreaths at Veterans gravesites. This is a community assisted project and donations are welcomed. The event is held in December yearly.
